Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles on the market, but there should be a thing that you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or even a major healing. So, the thing that was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think of your life since it is apparently in this world with regards to the story. How do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who’s my source?” So whenever we discuss the past stage to the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and trust in many of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It’s kind of like creating a big house of cards, stacking using one card after the other acim author. A good wind comes along and poof, it’s only blown over. It can’t even stand a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing trust in the Spirit and withdrawing trust in the rest; all those issues that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we trust in those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy?It certainly comes down to the essence of who’s my cousin? Is it Spirit or matter? Is it Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this 1?So you are asking the question, “If someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all this is heading is to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will reveal is that everything is mental and that everything is a hallucination. This really is a full world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There’s no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to construct his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the text between thought and form. His lessons start out with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all this is it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way up to number 4, “These thoughts do not mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s discussing thoughts. First He’s discussing perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts do not mean anything.” You can see he’s wanting to melt everything together and show the past veil or stage of awakening, that will be trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time for you to teach us there’s no such thing as time, to take us back to that timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That’s the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work with your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in a myriad of things. What sort of things do you spend money on, in this world?
